Hi,

I'm a brand new user of Freescale MCU, and particularly the KL17 family.

I am designing a long battery life device using UART, I2C, IIS, SPI, RTC peripherals, and it would be helpfull to find KL17 example projects, which could help me to start working with Kinetis L series MCU.

I have already installed the last codewarrior and processor expert version, but I can't find a sample project using a KL17. This is the same issue when I want to build a new processor expert project, I only see KL14/15/16Z MCUs, but no KL17.

Thanks in advance for your valuable support.

Hi,

KL17 is using most same modules with KL26,  I would recommend to refer KL26 product sample code as a start point.

KL26 sample code based on FRDM-KL26Z could be downloaded from below link:

http://cache.freescale.com/files/32bit/software/FRDM-KL26Z_SC.exe

Wish it helps.

Have a great day,
best regards,

Ma Hui

I never used this with KL17 but if it basically a stripped down version of the KL26 you can also look at

http://www.utasker.com/kinetis/FRDM-KL26Z.html

This includes every thing that you need (apart for the IIS) and will work out-of-the-box with

CW, KDS, IAR, Keil, Rowley Crossworks, Atollic, CooCox, Green Hills, Standalone GCC or VisualStudio

From Q1 2014 on, all new devices (and KL17 is a new one) are only supported in Kinetis Design Studio.

So you need to install Kinetis Design Studio with the Kinetis SDK for the KL17.
