HI, ALL

DOES THE RT1024 UARTS HAVE ISO 7816 CAPABILITIES LIKE THE KINETIS K60?

IF NOT, CAN ANY RT PINS BE USED TO SIMULATE IT?

I AM TRYING TO PORT MY K60 & K64 BOARDS TO RT CPUs

THANKS

Hi,
Thank you for your interest in NXP Semiconductor products and for the opportunity to serve you.
No, I'm afraid that the i.MX RT1024 doesn't support the ISO7816 feature.
Hope this is clear.
Have a great day,
TIC

dear jeremy

the 3.3v comes from my own DC to DC 12v to 3.3v SMPS

because i do not use the usb, i do not need 5v and i provided a 5v connection on the usb connector for external 5v supply if required

thank you for your reply

i have put together a version of the schematic copied from the NXP reference design but do not include the 5V for the usb.

i need to check with you to see if my design will work. i follow as closely to the reference as possible but i need all the IO as stated and also i cannot have 5V onboard due to cost

so i put in what i think is the bare minumum. it would be helpful if your specialist can look at it and confirm that it will work and also, if any components can be removed to make it even more cost effective

thanks

Hi,
Thanks for your reply. After having a review of your schematic, frankly, the design is bad. There're a lot of places to optimize, for example, the circuit of DCDC_PSWITCH, the supply power of NVIC_GPIO, etc, in addition, I have no idea about what the 3.3 V comes from.
In my opinion, you'd better check this schematic carefully.
Have a great day,
TIC

Hi,

Sorry for the reply late.
Firstly, the supply circuit of your design conforms to figure 1.

2021-01-29_18-29-43.jpg

Fig 1

However, MIMXRT1020-EVK conforms to another mode(as Fig 2 shows).

Fig 2

In further, especially about the supply circuit, I find some values of capacitors and resistors are different between your design and MIMXRT1020-EVK, and it takes time to point out one by one actually.
To provide the fastest possible support, I'd highly recommend you to refer to the schematic whose supply circuit conforms to the above figure1.

Have a great day,
TIC

dear jeremy

thanks for your reply but it is a bit ambiguous

you are saying that my schematic comes from fig 1 and then you ask me to check all values from fig 1

which fig 1 are you referring to?

where are the schematics for fig 1?

you have attached an easyARM-RT1052 schematic and the power connection to the cpu is at page 3

so you did not directly answer my question and i am left wondering and guessing.

can i use the rt1052 version of the schematic?

Hi,
Thanks for your reply and sorry for making you a bit confused, so let me make it clear.
Firstly, I use the above Fig 1 and Fig 2 want to illustrate that the power supply circuit is different from the MIMXRT1020 board, that's all.
Next, the attached schematic easyARM-RT1052 is definitely to fit for the i.MX RT1020, in another word, you can refer to it directly.
Hope this is clear
Have a great day,

dear jeremy

i have another problem,  i want to use the analog comparator in the rt1024

and it talks about reference input 0-6 into the comparator

but to which io pad does these reference input connected to?

see imxrt1024rm.pdf page 2828 fig 60.1

and the comparator output ( CMP0 ) to which pad?

thanks

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
Please check the 10.1.1 Muxing Options to find the pin assignment.
And one reminder, you'd better create a new thread for further questions in the future.
Have a great day,

dear jeremy

thank you for your comments

this design comes directly from the NXP reference design. it is likely to be overdesigned and have a lot of options

that is why i need your help to optimize it. please edit it for me and give me a optmised version

that would be very much appreciated
