About imxrt1050 RAM BANK0

Can RT1050 onchip RAM BANK0 be used as NVRAM if I add a Batterry with SNVS power ?

I read datasheet ,I find confilict between Datasheet and AN12085

The datasheet said can't, But appnote said can .

What  I  Think is  

Can I simply use a battery that can use the RTC and use RAM BANK0 as NVRAM?

Or I must use NVRAM external ?

I think I can use Bank0 as NVRAM, if a battery is added
