Ran 'run xenmmcboot' per the Xen virtualization instructions (IMXVIRTUG_ga.pdf) and despite reformatting the first partition to FAT, and using 'file' to confirm, 'fatload mmc 1:1' (the first command that is run) is never able to recognize the filesystem, reporting:
** Unrecognized filesystem type **
