Hello,
I am planning on using the i.MX 6 SoloLite for a navigation tablet that my team is designing. I have several questions:
- is the i.MX SoloLite compatible with both Carta 1.2 and Pearl?
- Does NXP provide the EPD firmware for any eInk panel (Carta 1.2 or Pearl)?
- Is there a scheduled End-of-Life for the 6 SoloLite?
- knowing that the tablet will not be using Ethernet, is there an advantage in considering the SLL (consumption?)

Both i.MX6SL and i.MX6SLL processors have Electrophoretic Display Controller (EPDC) that supports displays up to 4096 x 4096 pixels.
You can refer to chapter 21 of i.MX6SL Reference Manual and chapter 19 of i.MX6SLL RM for the details.
i.MX6SL was launched in Nov 2012 and has 10 year longevity.
i.MX6SLL was launched in Jun 2017, so it will be produced at least till 2032.
One can refer i.MX 6SLL Power Consumption Measurement:
https://www.nxp.com/docs/en/application-note/AN12001.pdf
There is nothing special to i.MXSLL in point of Ethernet.
