Hi Sir,
We tested SPDIF OUT via TOSLINK SPDIF connector on i.MX6SDP board. (GPIO_17)
We measure i.MX6 SPDIF OUT pads have waveforms to work (red light is bright at TOSLINK SPDIF connector)
But it is not sound by headphone on LINDY SPDIF hardware.
LINDY spdif transform box information:
support freqence : 32 ~ 192KHz
support format : spdif, 24bit 2CH LPCM
input interface : TOSLINK
Below are test command :
aplay -D plughw:1,0 -N -M naim-test-2-wav-24-96000.wav
Playing WAVE 'naim-test-2-wav-24-96000.wav' : Signed 24 bit Little Endian in 3bytes, Rate 96000 Hz, Stereo
aplay -D plughw:1,0 -N -M big_441_24bit_2.wav
Playing WAVE 'big_441_24bit_2.wav' : Signed 24 bit Little Endian in 3bytes, Rate 44100 Hz, Stereo
root@freescale /wav$ aplay -l

I have the similar issue.
I use freescale linux kernel - imx_3.14.38_6qp_beta.
I bought three different model of optical to R/L audio Converter box.
1. Uptech AC100 optical to R/L audio Converter
2. CYP DCT-3 optical to R/L audio Converter
3. Upmost DCT-3 plus optical to R/L audio Converter
All these three box can work with my Asus motherboard SPDIF output.
So, we can exclude this is device issue.
Only "CYP DCT-3 optical to R/L audio Converter" can work with i.mx6 board, the others just output no sound.
I suspect there is compatibility issue on freescale spdif driver.
Hi JIMMY
you could try other test method with i.MX 6Series Platform SDK
or just with another spdif device.
Best regards
igor
