Hi community,

I have a question about i.MX6SL and MMPF0100.

Please see Table 14 in MCIMX6SLCEC Rev.3, it shows the power-down sequence.

I understand, if a i.MX6SL system cannot satify the power-down sequence, i.MX6SL is dameged in worst case, isn't it?

However, I did not find the power-down sequence of MMPF0100 in MMPF0100 datasheet.

Would you let me know whether MMPF0100 can satify the i.MX6SL power-down sequence?

Best Regards,

Hi Satoshi

I.MX6SL will not be damaged using MMPF0100 and

such connection is recommended by IMX6SLHDG

Hardware Development Guide for i.MX 6SoloLite - User Guide

sect.3.2 Requirements for a generic interface between chip and PF0100.

However special power-down requirements may be applied if design uses E-INK

panels, they may require special power-down sequence and this is provided

by PMICs which are designed for such purposes (like TPS65185).

Best regards

Hi Igor,

As far as your reply, the conclusion is the following, right?

1. i.MX6SL has no special power-down sequence same as other i.MX6 chips when E-ink panel is NOT used.

2. The sequence in chapter 4.2.2 of MCIMX6SL (Rev.3) has to be applied when E-ink panel is used.

3. i.MX6SL will be not damaged by any power-down sequence when E-ink panel is not used, but damaged if the power-down sequence is not observed when E-ink panel is used.

Hi Satoshi

1.2. right

3. i.MX6SL will be not damaged in that case too.

E-ink can.

Hi Igor,

Umm, I'm confused why the power-down sequence is defined even though i.MX6SL will be not damaged in the both case E-ink is used or not.

Hi Satoshi

connection is recommended by IMX6SLHDG

Hardware Development Guide for i.MX 6SoloLite - User Guide

and implemented on i.MX6SL EVK reference design.

Hi Igor,

According to your reply, I understood i.MX6SL will be not damaged if use MMPF0100 and follow the Hardware Development Guide for i.MX6SoloLite, right?

Then, how about when user don't follow the recommended design?

Hi Satoshi

in general connections in i.MX EVK reference designs are

considered as safe and recommended for usage - this is just

another option. For example AN3820 gives connection

MC34704B with i.MX25 which differs from datasheet, however

it can also be used as verified solution.

Dear Igor,

Thank you for giving the another option.

I have one more question about power-down sequence, but this question is not related to MMPF0100.

So I will post a new question.

Thank you for your support.
