MCIMX7SABRE Eval board minimum current requirement

Can anyone tell what is minimum current requirement of this MCIMX7SABRE evaluation board ?

Getting started guide suggests, power source should be 5VDC/5A. Due to unavoidable situation, I cannot get 5VDC/5A power adapter. I tried to power the board with 5VDC/2A adapter, but did not get success to get log on serial terminals.

Any help on this would highly appreciated, may alternate solution...

Hello Prabhakar Patil,

The recommended power required to boot up the board would be the 5A the AC Adapter included with the SABRE board is able to handle. You may be able to boot with a smaller AC Adapter but chances are 2A would be too small. You could try loading an image that does not use graphics for example, to see if that allows to reduce power consumption enough.

Hi Prabhakar,

Based on the schematic, there are 2 ways to power up the board.

1) 5V@4A power in through J1 connector.

2) Battery power in through J2 connector.
