Hi community,
I want to confirm about i.MX6 Dual power supply.
Actually, on our custom board, connection of VDD_ARM23_IN pins and VDD_ARM23_CAP pins are following.
(our connection is not changed from i.MX6Q connection even though we use i.MX6 "Dual")
In this case, is there any problem?
(e.g. chip will be dameged, power consumption will be increased, no problem, etc...)
[Connection]
VDD_ARM23_IN: 1.375V from MMPF0100 is supplied same as i.MX6Q connection.
VDD_ARM23_CAP: connect to VDD_ARM_CAP same as i.MX6Q connection.

Yes, that is correct.
You can find gudelines for designing common circuit to accept all 4 i.MX 6 variants here:

Please check the mx6q datasheet, "4.1.3 Operating Ranges", note 2 states the following about VDD_ARM23_IN connection for quad and dual:
"For Quad core system, connect to VDD_ARM_IN. For Dual core system, may be shorted to GND together with
VDD_ARM23_CAP to reduce leakage."

Hi Fabio Estevam,
Sorry, I modified this question immediately before you sent a reply.
Can I apply your answer to not only VDD_ARM23_IN but also VDD_ARM_CAP?
According to the datasheet, the leakage is increase if i.MX6 Dual connection is same as i.MX6Q, but i.MX6 Dual is NOT damaged.
Is this understanding correct?

Hi Vladan,
The customer is waiting for the answer. Could you please help with it
Thanks,
Yu
guillermoron can you help with this case?
Hi Vladan,
Thank you for your quick response.
OK, I understand the impact is only leakage.

Satoshi Shimoda
Do you have a data how much leakage is increased in the case?
I want to estimate it to adapt our product to EuP.

Hi,
I don't know if we have done such measurements in detail to provide full details over temperature etc. But I have seen comments that, based on few measurements done, it is worth while following recommended design. Leakage range will be about 15-20mA at room temperature, and increasing at higher temperatures.
Best regards,
Vladan
Hi Vladan,
Thank you for teaching the helpful data.
OK, I understand the leakage range.
Thank you for your cooperation.
