Hi,

Has anyone booted Linux and VxWorks on the same i.MX chip (2 operating systems running side by side on separate cores)?

If so, how did you do it? Thank you.

Best regards,

Tamer

Unfortunately i.MX6 processor series has no Asymmetric Multiprocessing hardware support.
And we have no any examples for running 2 OSes simultaneously.
Please pay attention on our VF6xx series of the processors have asymmetric cores

Hi,

Unfortunately the VF6xx is not powerful enough for the intended use.

We know that you have the hardware support with IPS_Semaphores, however the Cortex A9 has atomic instructions, interrupts for inter-core signaling, and the barrier instruction.

Is that not sufficient to run the Cortex A9 in asymmetric mode?

Thank you,
