Hi everyone,
I am using a JN5169 chip and I want to test the maximum data rate of the chip. In the IEEE 802.15.4 standard the maximum data rate is 250 kb/s. When I however test the data rate of the JN5169 chip, I get only a data rate of around 14 kb/s max. I noticed that there is always a delay of 3 to 5 ms between each message even if there are no other instructions between the calls.
I use the jn516x-Template as a code base and use the default parameters, can you tell me why the data rate is so low?
Hi Mario,
for the calculation i measured the time between to successful messages and then used the time to calculate the amount of packages which where theoretical sent per second. I multiplied then this value with the package size. For the measurement i used mean of the values from successful messages over the time of 10 seconds.
I haven't had a look at the document, thanks for linking it.
Hi Lukas,
Please let me know if you have further questions.
Regards,
Mario
Hi Lucas,
I hope you are doing great.
How are you calculating the data rate?
Did you look at the Calculating 802-15-4 Data Rates application note?
