NXP KW2x is supporting 802.15.4, one of our customer is requesting ZigBee 2.4 GHz and 868 MHz (a GB requirement) since last year. So we proposed KW01Z + KW20Z to them. Checking the new EE Times in Feb., link:
We find there is a SiLabs’s Might Gecko wireless SoC supports “The SoC would normally be sleeping, but could periodically wake up to handle 802.15.4 Thread communication and then sub GHz communication”
Why can SiLabs’s SoC support this dual-band communication, but KWxx chips cannot? Is this a H/W limitation or S/W issue?
KW2xD - 2.4GHz radio
KW20/1Z - 2.4GHz radio
KW01Z - <1 GHz radio
