I am ARIJIT BAKSHI From THAPAR University ,Patiala,India. I require to
develop an energy meter as a part of my project and after going through all
the modules available in the power modules i want to use low power energy
MCU HCS08LH64 supported for single phase energy meters.
As i have to develop a hardware for the same for which i require funding
from the college and the actual requirement is that they want me to develop
a schematic simulation for the smart meter. So require to known how i
can perform my simulation of the meters ?And i in my schematic simulation i
want to show the following requirements:-
1. A circuit of my smart meter
which require PHASE VOLTAGE MEASUREMENT ,CURRENT MEASUREMENT , LED TO
DISPLAY ENERGY PULSE OUTPUT,LCD DRIVER,POWER SUPPLY.
2. And to display or communication serially using UART and display it
using the FREE MASTER MONITORING TOOL provided by FREESCALE.
thank you looking forward for a direction from your side for the
development of my project as this is the most critical and most
important part of my project without which i cannot move forward .
with regards

Hi Arijit,
MC9S08LH64 is 8 Bit MCU, having features like In-build LCD driver along with 16 bit SAR ADC channels which is older chip used for making energy meters.
Currently we have our new 32 bit arm based Kinetis-M MCU's, Dedicated for 1 / 3 phase metering application.
MKM33Z128CLH5 is the recomended device for single phase meter as it meet all the requirements for single metering application(SD- ADC for voltage and current measurement, RTC for time stamp, Dedicated Tamper pins and in build LCD driver with multiple UART's for communication).
We do also have reference design for based on this device.
Device details(Data sheet, Reference Manual & application note) can be downloaded from the link given below:
KM1x |Kinetis KM1x Analog Front End MCUs|Freescale
Also you can find more info. related to the Single phase reference design under the below link:

Thanks for showing interest in Freescale MCU's.
