T1042 DDR4 failed to initialize - What to look at

I have a custom board with T1042 and component DDR4 in 64 bit interface.

I am using the Codewarrior TAP tool to try and bring up DDR4, but When I try, I get following error:

"Error configuring the target! - DDR initialization failed: D_INIT was not cleared by hardware!"

Is there a list of things the T1042 does to attempt this? What exactly does this mean?

Please check whether there is problem with the DDR controller initial configuration parameters.

If there is SPD on the target board, please use reading from SPD to create a DDR project.

If no, please create a QCVS DDR project with default parameters, then modify Properties panel according to DDR datasheet.

Would you please capture the low level CCS log to me to do more investigation?

When connecting CodeWarrior to your target board, CodeWarrior Connection Server(CCS) will pop up in the Windows task bar. Please open CodeWarrior Connection Sever console, type "log v", then connect to the target board again, the low level CCS log will be printed in CCS console, would you please capture the CCS log and attach it here?

is this a new board design? or an existing board design that customer has changed the DIMM part number?
if this is a new board bring up then:
please provide:
1. customer schematics (DDR section) for review.
2. how many board has customer tested and how many fail?
3. check all the DDR voltages and clocks, and send scope shots
4. put DRAM reset signal and HRESET signal on the scope and trigger on the rising edge of the HRESET signal. zoom out sufficiently to be able to capture the assertion and de-assertion of both HRESET and DRAM reset signals. when scope is setup, run a functional test on CW and provide the captured scope shot.
the expectation is that the DRAM reset signal will follow the same/similar assertion and de-assertion of HRESET signal.

if it still fails, then run a WRC test in QCVS then after failure via ccs collect the DDR register log.

How to get register dump via ccs
This is for debug use only.
1) Open a CCS window (C:\Freescale\CW4NET_xxxxxx\Common\CCS\bin\ccs.exe)
2) Physical connection: USB to PC, JTAG to the customer board.
3) SW connection: in the ccs window type:

I have an update for you. After setting those registers as you suggest, most of the Codewarrior DDR4 validation items are passing.

There is one that is not, though. The "BIST-Write-then-Read-No-Turnaround" test is consistently failing while all the others are consistently passing. What is the difference between the No-Turnaround test and the others?

Also, we are trying to understand what the registers you sent are doing (below), can you clarify?

the BIST no turnaround is not working in the tool. the failures are because of the tool and the an actual failure of the DDR interface. recommendation is not use the BIST with no turnaround.

the DQ_MAPn registers, provide the mapping information of the DRAM DQ order to the controller. controller uses this information during the initialization when training pattern are send and received. when controller does not have or has the wrong map it is not able to perform initialization of DRAM chips.
