Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
I have bought "CodeWarrior Development Studio for DSP, Version 8.2" with 3 unlimited USB Dongle Licenses 4 Years ago.
It works under WindowsXP very well !
But under Windows7 this CodeWarrior Version 8.2 cannot recognize the USB Dongle License, while the FlexID of the Dongle
can be reading by the "LMTOOLS"-Monitor without any problems. :-(
Please, can You help me ? Thanks a lot in advance !
Many regards
Herbert

Hi Herbert,
In addition to Fiona answer ...
I've performed several test with USBDongle.
See below:
+++++++++++++++++++++++
I've re-installed CW for DSC V8.2.3 on Win 7 32 bit and 64 bit PCs.
Below the result of my USBdongle test with same license + Dongle + project
DSC V8.2.3 DSC V8.3
Win 7 32 bit not working working
Win 7 64 bit not working working
The DSC V8.2.3 (and previous version) can not be used with USBdongle license.
The same dongle with same driver is working fine for DSC V8.3.
The driver is not compatible with the Flexlm version used to build the DSC V8.2.3 tools.
+++++++++++++++++++++++
Only the DSC V8.3 can be used with USBDongle license file under Win 7 OS.
To be running you must install the new CCS as explained by Fiona.
If you want to keep the DSC V8.2 we recommend you to lock the license on Disk/Host ID,
Have a great day,
Pascal

Dear Pascal and Fiona
I have the USBTAP Probe not in use yet !
First of all I’d like to see the “CodeWarrior IDE” can create a “elf”- and S-Record-Files of my current Project
under Windows7.
I have already installed the “CodeWarrior Development Studio, Version 8.3” for a few days ago, and now
I have installed the “CCS”-Driver-Update today. But my License Problems are unfortunately not solved ☹
Here some Screenshots:
Why this Message is appearing after starting the “CodeWarrior IDE” `?
After Compiling my Project this Linker Error appears, while I have an Unlimited USB Dongle License in use ☹
The Dongle Driver is running well under Windows7:
Many Regards
Herbert
Herbert,
CW for DSC V8.3 is running fine under Win 7 with USBDongle license.
However there is a problem whcih is common one for all classic version under Win 7 running with USBDongle license file.
When you launch the IDE a message "This is the last day of license" will appear.
Don't care about it.
There is a Flexlm compatibility driver with the IDE.
In fact the message will appear every days.
You can solve the issue by adding the key:
INCREMENT Win32_CWIDE_Unlimited metrowks 5.900 permanent uncounted \
C10A4505A261 VENDOR_STRING="CodeWarrior IDE 4.2 or later, \
Windows" HOSTID=ANY ck=134 TS_OK
Now regarding the second license issue.
The DSC V8.3 requires a DSC V8.3 license file.
The DSC V8.2 license file can not be used with DSC V8.3.
Attached you will find a temp license.
You can try it.
This will expire the April 16th.
Rename it to license.dat
Have a great day,

Dear Pascal,
I have spent some more money to get UNLIMITED Dongle Licenses !!!
Windows7 exists since 22th October 2009 on the market, about 2 Years earlier than
I have bought the 3 Dongle Licenses. Is it possible that you provide me with licenses (or renew my 8.2 licenses)
for Version 8.3, because as I see it is not possible that I use my 8.2 license on Windows 7 ?
Many regards
Herbert
Morning Herbert,
Unfortunately this can not be handle through the Community.
I recommend you to send a email to support@freescale.com.
We need to analyze your account.
This requires Sales/Marketing approval.

Pascal
USB Dongle supports CodeWarrior for MCU v10.x running on Windows XP and 7.
http://www.freescale.com/webapp/sps/site/prod_summary.jsp?code=CW-MCU10
But our classic CodeWarrior products does not support USB dongle license on Windows 7, they supports Windows XP. We recommend you to rehost the license file to the DISK/HOST ID.
In addition, CodeWarrior v8.2 debugger does not work well on Windows 7. To support USBTAP connection on Windows 7, user needs to install the new CCS update, please search 'AN4338' on Freescale's website (www.freescale.com), and follow the instructions in it to install the update.
