Hi, Below questions from customer. Can you help to comment? Thanks

------------------------------------------------

Is the safety document for the whole series or specific part?

If I just want to focus on the safety document of FS32K148HJT0VLQT, is this possible for you to provide?

BTW, when I look into “S32K148_module_classification” document, there are many modules inside S32K148 don’t have Safety Mechanism (see attached)

How can we achieve ASIL-B for both FS32K148HJT0VLQT and the modules like “Serial Audio Interface (2xSAI)”; “CAN-FD (3x FlexCAN-FD)”?

Hi,

Thanks for your answer. Do we have any MCU (says in Infotainment) that contains the peripheral module, e.g I2S and SAI that already meets ASIL B requirement? I don’t think there is such a MCU since I understand that the peripheral module of the MCU is usually application dependant which is developed by customer itself. Is that correct?

We have multiple MCUs (both ISO26262 compliant and not) that have I2S and SAI. You are right that the usage of these peripherals is application dependent.

The Safety Manual is for the family similar to other documentation (Reference Manual). Sections of the manual which are applicable to specific device have explicit mention as to which device a certain feature/assumption is applicable. The safety analysis (FMEDA) and confirmation measures are for each device.

For modules that you refer in the diagram, there is a note that for these modules have high application dependent usage and accordingly the safety concept for this should be developed as part of Technical System Safety Concept. The Safety Manual provides guidelines for doing this. Refer to Section "5.7.1.2 Fault-tolerant communication protocol" in SM_Rev5.

For SAI, we assume that it is not going to be used in safety application and hence there are no mechanisms or guidelines provided to use this.
