Dear NXP Community, I am looking for a BDM programmer to program the S912ZVML12F3WKH microcontroller. I found this one on Amazon.com for a reasonable price. The seller says in the description that it supports the HCS12.
After some search, I wasn't able to find if this programmer can program the S12Z MCU (S912ZVML12F3WKH). What made it more confusing is that MC9S12ZVM-Family
Reference Manual, in the first page, mentions "HCS12 microcontrollers".
There are basically 2 ways how to program S12Z in CodeWarrior(Eclipse):
1) via Debug Configuration (Assume you are using Pemicro debug probe)
2) via Flash programmer (Target Task configuration)
Another way is programmer which is provided by www.pemicro.com or another company.
If you use option #1 I'd suggest to consider program the device using Target Task. Simply create a new target task, configure the flash memory and programming sequence.
You can also execute Target Task scripts from the debugger console.
Hope it helps.
Thank you for your reply. So if I understood well, there is no need to buy a programming software, I can program the S12Z using PE Micro Universal Multilink programmer and use Code Warrior for free.
As far as I know, you don't need any extra programming software. You can use free version (called special edition) of CodeWarrior for MCUs 11.x integrated flash programmer tool to program your S12Z MCU using Pemicro probe.
Hope it helps.
