We are evaluating the IAR tool and I see no obvious support for processor expert tools such as the component inspector and component library in any of the documentation related to IAR or KSDK for IAR. Is there any add-on for IAR tool for processor expert? Is there definitive documentation on how IAR works with Kinetis MCU's with respect to KSDK or processor expert?

THANKS!

Because IAR is not Eclipse based, these views do not exist in the IAR Embedded workbench.

How Processor Expert works with IAR is with the Driver Suite, see http://mcuoneclipse.com/2013/01/31/tutorial-iar-freertos-freedom-board/

Later version of IAR tools have even improved the support, see IAR ARM v6.7 comes with improved Processor Expert Support | MCU on Eclipse

There is as well a way to use the IAR compiler with Eclipse, with a plugin IAR provides (I have not tried it out recently, but that one should still apply):

I hope this helps,

Erich

Erich, thanks for your speedy response.

I have a follow up question. The first link uses CodeWarrior to somehow generate this Driver Suite. Can I use KDS to do the same thing? Are there any special instructions to do so?

Thanks!
