PT2000 dev studio can't find installed java

Hello,

I am trying to program an PT2000 using PT2000 Developer Studio. I used the application note 5186, the project  opens correctly, but I can't get it to build. Developer Studio reports 'The required version of Java is not installed. Please install JRE 1.6 or higher'. I have installed the latest Java version (Java SE 8), and this does not fix the issue. I try with another PC and same result.

I am currently running 64-bit Windows 7.

Hello Stephane,

There was a similar issue reported few months ago and here is what the apps engineer recommended at that time.

The IDE work with the latest revision of Java 8 (JRE 8u181). This version can be found here:

https://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jre8-downloads-2133155.html

To get the IDE to work, the user needs to uninstall any version of Java later than 8u181.

Please let us know if this helps or not.

Best regards,

Tomas

Hi Tomas,

I encounter the same problem with PT2000 IDE cannot find the installed java.

I already tried to install you suggested Java version from your link. The problem remains. Could you please suggest another solution?

Best regards,

Mike
