Dear Jose,

Thanks for the reply.

it is not needed to turn on SW3, SW4, LDO3 and LDO4, reason of why they remain OFF.  - Does it mean that PMIC SW3,SW4,LDO3 & LDO4 output will be disabled or output will be not available according to this OTP?

but in the BD they show output from the SW3 & SW4 - Doesnt it mean they are producing this output voltage that in that OTP configuration.

Hi,

It means that PMIC SW3,SW4,LDO3 & LDO4 outputs will be disabled by default, if required, you can enable these regulators through I2C configuration after the PMIC is power on.

Regarding the second question about the BD showing output from the SW3 & SW4, I know it is confusing, however, SW3 and SW4 are disabled for FJ OTP configuration because the sequence is ‘OFF’, even if the DB is marked as 1.1V.

The reason is because it is not possible to set the SW regulators (OTP_VSWx[7:0]) to 0V, so, the way to disable the SW regulators is by setting the Sequence to OFF (OTP_SWx_SEQ[7:0] = 00000000).

In other words, doesn’t matter if SW3 and SW4 regulators are set to an output of 1.1V (OTP_VSWx[7:0] = 01110000), if SW3 and SW4 sequence is OFF (OTP_SWx_SEQ[7:0] = 00000000), the outputs of these regulators would be 0V (disbled).

Regards,

Jose

Hi,

PF8100 have different preprogrammed OTP configurations, the attached image and link you sent are from OTP “FJ” version. For this version of the configuration it is not needed to turn on SW3, SW4, LDO3 and LDO4, reason of why they remain OFF.

If you check a different OTP configuration you will find that different regulators are used and unused, for example check the version “EM”, where LDO1 and LDO4 are OFF, and the rest of the regulators are ON. https://www.nxp.com/docs/en/supporting-information/R_PF8200EM.PDF

All the OTP configuration documents can be found under “Supporting Information” in the following link: https://www.nxp.com/products/power-management/pmics-and-sbcs/pmics/12-channel-power-management-integ...

These OTP configurations are done based on customer requirements, if none of the existing OTP configurations works for your application, you can design your own using the “PF8x00 Custom OTP Request Form” that you can download from the following link: https://www.nxp.com/products/power-management/pmics-and-sbcs/pmics/12-channel-power-management-integ...

Regards,

Jose
