Hi Team,
We are using PCF8523T/1,118 chip for RTC timer in one of our product. Currently we are facing a battery backup issues if we kept the device in switch off mode(VDD is off ) for long period. Since we have connected a non replaceable - rechargeable power source in VBATT terminal.
So, we want to know, in Backup mode (VDD is off ) once the VABT voltage reached below 2.5V (threshold) what will happen or How RTC will behave,
Like,
1. RTC continue to operate till the lower VBAT voltage limit ?
2. RTC will stop function and go to off state or standby mode?
3. RTC will just set a flag and continue to operate till the lower VBAT voltage limit ?
We are searching for a solution to save the battery power. So is there any option to shutdown the IC or went to sleep mode if the battery voltage is below the set threshold voltage? Please advise if any kind of sleep mode/ internal power shutdown possibilities are available to save the battery power.
