CodeWarrio 5.0's License for OpenSourceBDM

Hi,

  OpenSourceBDM for S08 is a outstanding work for any freescale's fans.

  Recently, I have finished a OSBDM pcb board. And I have installed CodeWarrio 5.0 SE gotten from www.freescale.com. Then, I have a MC9S08GT60's board. I want to debug the MC9S08GT60 using OSBDM under the CodeWarrio 5.0.

  You know, CodeWarrio 5.0 SE's License is 16KBytes limited. So I can compile some little program, for example, it's 3KBytes or 10Bytes. It's no problem.

  And, I can read/erase Flash of MC9S08GT60 using OSBDM in Hiwave.

   But, when I Load *.s19 file into the Flash, the Hiwave will give me a error information, like:"is running in demo mode! ... maximum FLASH download size is 1024 bytes. FLASH writing aborted."

  So, I know the problem is the CodeWarrio's License.

  But, the CodeWarrio 5.0 SE' License's code limited is 16K Bytes. Why, OSBDM's download code is limited to 1K Bytes?

  Who can give me help? Did anyone else happen this problem?

Hello

The attached Special Edition license file activates the flash programmer. This license file posted on the WEB this week. The flash programmer will be part of the Special Edition V5.1 license file when it is released.

For your information, we will also release a service pack later in the year which will add the Open Source BDM to the connections list. Project has not be scheduled yet, so I cannot give you a date for that.

The OpenSourceBDM worked! The target's Flash can be read/erase/write.

When I first started using Codewarrior + Hiwave for HCS12 I had one of the original Motorola Serial BDM interfaces. I had to get them to do a special license so I could use this with over 1k of code. The compiler at that time was limited to 12k for the Free version which worked fine up to the 12k limit. I ran into the same issue when using the Motorola BDM and P&E worked fine.

So I guess what I am saying is that a License change fixed my problem similar to this at the time.

I have noticed this problem as well.

I have exactly the same setup as you.

If you use P&E USB ML 12 to download it uses P&E software and there is no limitation.

But when using the OSBDM it seems to use Hiwave software to download/flash.

If you look in the "about" when in the true time simulator you can see some license info that seems to allude to this limitation.

Hopefully someone "in the know" can help us out here.

I have avoided this issue (by using a small test file) for the time being as I am just trying to qualify a design for a smallest/simplest easy to construct PCB for this BDM. Hence my questions elsewhere about USBICP as I want to leave off MON08 if possible.
