Hi, I'm working now with secure NFC tags and need to select the propper version of the IC NT4H242.
Reading the datashset https://www.nxp.com/docs/en/data-sheet/NT4H2421Tx.pdf i found 3 types of versions:
NT4H2421TTDUF - 8 inch wafer (sawn; 75 μm thickness; Au Bumps), 256 Byte NDEF Message, 128 Byte User Memory, Ci = 50 pF
NT4H2421TSDUF - Service version with preprogrammed NDEF message and keys, 8 inch wafer (sawn; 75 μm thickness; Au Bumps), 256 Byte NDEF Message, 128 Byte User Memory, Ci = 50 pF
NT4H2421TCDUF - Customer configurable version, 8 inch wafer (sawn; 75 μm thickness; Au Bumps), 256 Byte NDEF Message, 128 Byte User Memory, Ci = 50 pF
What exact modification should i use/select to be able to set my own keys and set my own NDEF message?
As i understand the "service" version is already programmed, so let skip it. So the question what is the difference between "empty" (TDUF) and "customer" (CDUF) versions? Which exact version will alllow me to made some configuration?
Hello,
Based on the information you provided, here's the breakdown of the NT4H242 IC versions and the best choice for your needs:
NT4H2421TTDUF: This is the recommended choice for you. It's the "empty" version (TDUF) and allows you to:
NT4H2421TSDUF: This is the "service" version (SDUF). It comes pre-programmed with an NDEF message and keys by NXP. You cannot modify these settings. Skip this version as it doesn't allow customization.
NT4H2421TCDUF: This is the "customer" version (CDUF). The datasheet doesn't explicitly mention any differences between TDUF and CDUF versions in terms of programmability. It's likely very similar to TDUF and allows full configuration.
Therefore, both NT4H2421TTDUF and potentially NT4H2421TCDUF should work for your needs. However, since the datasheet is clearer on the TDUF version's programmability, it's the safer choice.
