I am attempting to install the Vcom firmware on a PN7642 for use in communications with the NXP Cockpit software.
I had previously upgraded the PN7642 to the V2.02 firmware provided with the V02-15-00 SDK. Prior to this, the PN7642 would enumerate as a USB drive using the VEN/DWL reset sequence.
After the V2.02 FW upgrade, I am now unable to get the PN7642 to enumerate as a USB drive.
The NFC Cockpit documentation still references the VEN/DWL sequence to bring up USB mode but it no longer works.
Has the process for loading the NFC Cockpit compatible firmware changed?
Sort of solved - I used the j-link commander software to flash the Vcom firmware instead of the USB drive method. I still don't know why it will no longer enumerate as drive when DWL is asserted during powerup. USB works fine with NFC Cockpit now that I have the proper FW flashed.
Hello @MLang,
Hope you are doing well.
It is good to know that you found a workaround for this.
I tested the procedure described in PN76 family evaluation board quick start guide, Chapter 6 NFC Cockpit, Section 6.3 Flash NFC Cockpit Firmware, and it is working as expected. For the test, I am using Development Kit for PN7642 which includes C100 version of the chip, using FW v02.02.
If you are still having some issues with USB mass storage mode, please make sure host-interface is set to USB (Section 3.1.4.1). If further support is required on this, I would really appreciate it if you could list the steps you are following to try to enter mass storage device so I can try to reproduce it on my side.
Have a nice day!
Regards,
Eduardo.
