We have created a newer version of a product. The newer one is using a K32W mcu while the old was using a MK21 mcu. In the firmware of both product we read the LQI values and share these to determine\monitor the network stability.
Because we are seeing different LQI values between the old and the new we are interested to know:
1. If there would be on average a (big) difference in the LQI value we read when the wireless signal would be the same (for a great signal downto a terrible signal).
2. How this LQI value is determined in both mcu's if there is a difference. Is there some graph for each product that is showing the LQI value returned ?
What difference can be expected between the MCU's? Can the LQI value differ 10, 25, 50% or maybe even more different? What percentage can be expected ?
Hi,
Hope you are doing well. Unfortunately, there is not a document or graph for LQI for different situations.
The Link Quality Indicator (LQI) is an indication of the quality of the data packets received by the receiver. So, it would not be the same between different devices. And also, would change on different humidity, temperature, or any obstacle circumstances.

Hi,
There is not a direct relation between the LQI values of each device.
Each customer should test the device to know the typical LQI values for their application and environment.
