I recently bought a Freedom KW41Z package with 2 development boards. Even though everything worked perfectly with the first board, when I tried to use the second one I got a debug error.
Any suggestions?
Hi Kostas,
What is the MCUxpresso version that you are working on?
Are you working with the P&E Micro drivers? Could you please erase the launch file and try it again?
Regards,
Mario
Hi Mario
I am working with MCUXpresso IDE v11.0.0 [Build 2516] [2019-06-05]. I tried erasing the launch file but nothing happened. I am using J-Link to debug. It seems that when I debug the with the second dev board It starts with the same S/N of the previous dev board. On the debugging options on the j-link tab I changed the S/N but nothing happened.
Hi Kostas,
Could you please update the MCUxpresso IDE to v11.1?
Then, could you please erase the memory using the JLink Command?
Commands: Erase and unlock kinetis

Mario
Hi Mario
this is the outcome of:
erase
unlock
and I think the problem is on the serial number
the serial number of second frdm-KW41z is kind of weird. It has established the first KW41Z serial number.
Hi Kostas,
When you try to enter in debug mode, are you seeing the next message?
As your terminal log is showing the same message, could you please select the yes option?
Regards,
Mario
Hi Mario
done that but nothing happened. At the end of the terminal I got the message couln't connect to target.
Hi Kostas,
Unfortunately, your device has been bricked.
Could you please submit a warranty request?
