Hello,
Does anyone have made an SFP working in Linux with the LS1046A-RDB? Do we have to change something in the DTS?
In the DTS, the fm1-mac10, which is used for the SFP cage, is configured as a simple fixed link at 1Gbps. When I plug the SFP, nothing seems to go out of it. In front of this port, I have a Marvell MV88E6290 Evaluation card in 1 or 2.5 Gbps SFP, and I use a Finisar FCBG110SD1C01 (https://www.finisar.com/sites/default/files/downloads/fcbg110sd1cxx_10gbs_sfpwire_sfp-plus_acitve_op... ) for the connection.
All I could find on the SFP and Linux is this article of Russel King (Phylink & SFP support [LWN.net] ).
Thank you in advance for the help.
Marc

Hi,
Thank you for your confirmation. I had doubts that someone uses this card.
I didn't know that there was a hardware modification on the SFP link, no retimer. I needed only to change the rcw from RR_FFSSPPPH_1133_5559 to RR_FFSSPPPH_2233_5559.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
I will check this thread as answered.
By the way, I use a 4.12 kernel that is working on this platform.
Regards,
Marc
Hi, Marc,
Thanks for your reply.
I changed the serdes protocol in rcw_1800_qspiboot.rcw like following
SRDS_PRTCL_S1= 8755
: 4403 (0x1133) --> 8755(0x2233)
Do I have to change any other value to set?
Regards,
JS
Hello Marc,
I confirmed with Linux SDK testing team, SDK 1703 prebuilt image for LS1046ARDB supports 10G SFP+ fiber by default, Ethernet port fm1-mac10 should work normally with a 10G SFP optical transceiver module.
Would you please provide your u-boot and Linux booting up console log to let me do more investigation?
Have a great day,
TIC
