Hi,
I am currently doing research on suitable WiFi BT module for our new product development's custom main controller board for IoT application via WiFi and BT wireless communication physical layer at the "edge" of the cloud network.
I am interested on an Ayla Networks Supported Device / module from Expressif, ESP-WROOM-32, which has integrated WiFi and Bluetooth agents.
The main controller custom board where this module will be mounted on will have an NXP MCU MKL28Z512VLL7 and I have used MCUXpresso IDE for C-language firmware development for this for previous product development and now for a new product development.
I'm trying to understand how to integrate ESP-IDF v3.2 SDK (I'm currently downloading as I type this post) and import this in MCUXpresso to work with the rest of main NXP microcontroller MKL28Z SDK and my current prototype code that I already have programmed for our prototype configuration.
Does anyone here has any insight on such "cross-platform" integration of WiFiBT device to general purpose MCU ICs / devices from different manufacturers as in this case?
Please let me know if any of my statement above is unclear or if you have any comments or questions.
Your help is very much appreciated.
Thank you.

Hello!
I want to use ESP-DL library on my MIMXRT1062 dev board. Here is the link to the library https://github.com/espressif/esp-dl.
Can I do this? And if I can, what should I do?
Thanks a lot.
Hi Kerry,
No, this is not an NXP SDK.
This SDK is from Expressif for ESP-WROOM-32 WiFi/Bluetooth module.
Management wants me to take this module to interface with NXP MKL28 MCU.
I've used FRDM-KL28 but now we have MKL28 MCU on a couple of custom boards we've developed for our product line.
This second product needs IoT / cloud interface so Expressif's ESP-WROOM-32 integrated WiFi and BT is good choice because it IS DIRT CHEAP compared to others.
I studying it right now and I'd like to know if anybody has better recommendation for external WiFi and BT module to use instead of MKL28's limited WiFi internal module.
Thanks for the help.

Hi MI
For ESP32 development with Eclipse (MCUXpresso) see
https://mcuoneclipse.com/2019/08/18/building-and-flashing-esp32-applications-with-eclipse/
For another possibility for both Kinetis and ESP32 see also https://visualgdb.com/
and this tutorial page:
https://visualgdb.com/tutorials/esp32/
The ESP32 devices usually have an AT command set mode which means you don't necessarily have to develop anything on that device to use it together with a UART connection to the Kinetis part.

P.S. The uTasker project uses the ESP32-WROVER-B as Wifi/Bluetooth integration with Kinetis and i.MX RT parts
Hi M I ,
Where you get the ESP-IDF v3.2 SDK, is it the NXP product or the 3rd part product?
If you get it from NXP side, please provide the link.
Please also let me know, what's the kinetis board you are using, the official board or your own designed board.
Waiting for your updated information.
Have a great day,
Kerry
