I have an evaluation board on which there is a chip marked with:
COLDFIRE
PCF5485CZP200
L14S
QL20433
Note PCF not MCF.
What is this?
Clearly I can find info on MCF5485, but not PCF5485.
Thanks for the information. I'll be careful what I use it for, if anything.
Hi,
Usually "PCF" are not completely qualified. Initial parts are PCF, after the first level of validation, they become "XCF". When they’re fully qualified, the parts become MCF.

Google found one from 12 years ago that didn't answer your question, but that's a hint. Searching this Forum for "PCF gets lots of hits.

The above link says that designates a "prequalification" part. These are usually found on the earliest evaluation boards. They also have all of the uncorrected problems in the Errata, so you shouldn't be using them beyond initial product evaluation.
