how to implement ethernet interface on MCF 5485?
 
 I need peer to peer comm.
 
TCP/IP and UDP protocols.
 
how do i initialise a socket?
 
what is the local port no for SCADA (i dont use MODBUS)
 
is RTOS necessary to have a network interface???
 
pl guide me to any document relating to the s/w implementation
 
is it possible to start and test the TCP/IP s/w with device evaluation board.

We could use a little more info inorder to help on this.

If you use the linux BSP you get TCP/IP and UDP.

Also, make sure you download the MicroCode for the DMA engine.
The ethernet ports need you to use the DMA engine and there are special
functions in the API (microcode) for the ethernet.
