Help with MED-EKG

Hey guys,

I'm trying to get an ECG / EKG signal using the MCF51MM-TWR with the MED-EKG module. I'm doing this for a school project,

I've followed the supposedly noob-proof  step-by-step guide to lab1

http://cache.freescale.com/files/32bit/doc/support_info/MCF51MMMELAB1.pdf

i've also read the relevant user guides

http://cache.freescale.com/files/32bit/doc/quick_ref_guide/MCF51MMQSG.pdf

and this

http://cache.freescale.com/files/microcontrollers/doc/user_guide/MED-EKGUG_.pdf?fpsp=1

But when I program LAB1, I get no errors or warnings and I get the simulator just fine. (see attached picture)

However, when I run the EKG GUI , I get nothing but noise (see attached picture)

I've even purcashed a 3 lead cable from GE, which cost me about $200 :smileysad: :smileysad: and i got the same result.

Any advice on this?

I got a reply assuming that it could be because the band-reject filter is set to 60 Hz while the electricity in this country is 50 Hz,

If that's the case, any idea how to overcome that? I have a 50 Hz band-reject filter, how can I bypass the on-board filter and use mine? alternatively, how can I alter the one on the board to work at 50 Hz ?

Alright, I changed the on-board notch filter from 60 Hz to 50 Hz, still same noise.

I'm actually clueless now. Anyone ever tried using the MED-EKG? shouldn't it run from first try?

Is there a way to find out if my board is defective?

OK, have you filed a service request on this problem with Freescale? You seem to have received an answer about the line frequency, but was that from a service request, or did that come from somewhere else? If this was due to a service request, you can go back and re-open it.
