As Peg as said its an "engineering sample" , the sample normally given out to some special customers.
The difference between the normal mass produced ones and the engineering sample lies in the testing part.
Here is the comment from Freescaler Ake who once gave the information regarding this.

• PPAPs only exist for Auto qualified products.
So I think that when exchaning the common MC with an S, the part has to go thru AEG testing.

As far your question is considered, I would say yes, It contains both edge aligned as well as centre aligned PWM Mode. (See datasheet MC9S08SH8 MCU Series Data Sheet, Rev. 3, Page 241,242 ).
