Hello,

I want to connect a MIPI-DSI display to my Toradex Verdin iMX8MM module and I am not sure which maximum resolution is possible with this SoC.

The datasheet of the iMX8MM (Rev. 1, 07/2020) says on page 3 that the LCDIF does support up to 1080p60. But the reference manual (Rev. 3, 11/2020) indicates in section 1.4.11, 13.1.1.1 and 13.5.2 that the LCDIF und the MIPI-DSI supports up to 1200p60.

Which one is the right number? I suppose that the reference manuel is correct since the MIPI DSI maximum resolution support was changed from revision 2 to revision 3 (section A.1.1).

Can someone confirm this?

Best regards,

Markus

I got the following response from a NXP employee:

You are right, the reference manual is ok.

If you have questions about this topic, you can find in the AN13573 (i.MX 8/RT MIPI DSI/CSI-2), in the chapter 3.2.1.1 (Pixel clock and resolution relationship) is explained the resolution and frame rate.

Best regards,
Markus
