Hello!
I have a question regarding iMX6 boot from SPI flash. If you look to MCIMX6Q-SDB schematics, you will find the following pin connection for SPI NOR flash (only 2 lines as example):
SPINOR_CLK --->>> KEY_COL0 [W5] . ALT0 = ECSPI1_CLK
SPINOR_MISO --->>> KEY_COL1 [U7] . ALT0 = ECSPI1_MISO
However, according to RM "Table 8-25. SPI IOMUX Pin Configuration", or DS "Boot Devices Interfaces Allocation", booting from ECSPI1 is possible if connected to EIM_D17.alt1, EIM_D18.alt1, etc...
Does that mean that MCIMX6Q-SDB is not able to boot from onboard SPI NOR flash?
Or does boot ROM look to alternative pin options as well?
Thank you!

Hi Dmitry
you are correct:
from i.MX_6Dual6Quad_SABRE-SD_Linux_Release_Notes.pdf L3.0.35_4.1.0_LINUX_DOCS
Table 7. Known Issues and Workarounds
"Current SD board uses KEY relative PINs as
SPI interface. However, this set of PINs are not
supported by ROM.
Therefore, SPI NOR boot is not supported by Smart Device Board."
Best regards
igor
