Hello,
I want to use etnaviv gpu driver for imx8qxp mek.
I disabled MXC_GPU_VIV, enabled DRM_ETNAVIV on arm64 default defconfig.
fls-imx8qxp-mek.dtb also enables gpu core.
As I read after kernel version of 4.18 etnaviv driver enabled for arm64 architecture however after linux booted, "dmesg | grep viv" gives nothing.
Is vivante gpu driver applicable for imx8qxp mek?
Did I miss some point to enable entaviv gpu driver?
Best regards?
Hi, Even this issues still persist in kernel v5.15.71 in NXP BSP - kirkstone branch.
We faced it with one of our customer for sway compositor.
[ 27.464790] etnaviv-gpu 38000000.gpu: AXI bus error [ 27.469745] etnaviv-gpu 38000000.gpu: MMU fault status 0x00000000 [ 27.970450] etnaviv-gpu 38000000.gpu: recover hung GPU!
However we were able to resolve the issue and now its running smooth with the weston and sway compositor with 4GiB RAM usage.
As this was done for the customer we are unable to share the details, in case of support please reach-out to us on rutvij.trivedi@siliconsignals.io or visit www.siliconsignals.io.

Hi Refik
etnaviv is community version of gpu driver not supported by nxp,
issue may be posted on meta-fsl-arm mailing list:
meta-freescale@lists.yoctoproject.org | Home
Offical gpu driver is described in nxp offical documentaion on i.MX Software and Development Tools | NXP
and can be found in nxp source.codeaurora.org/external/imx/linux-imx repository
linux-imx - i.MX Linux kernel
Best regards

Hello Igor,
NXP 64bit gpu driver does not support opengl sc and Xorg.
Do you have any alternative for for nxp gpu driver?
I guess this drop of properties on gpu drive rises time to market.
Do you have any other plan to eliminate the lack of these properties?
Regards,
