What's the state of WebRTC on iMX6?

Hi,

I'm hoping to build up an iMX6 platform that is WebRTC compliant. I'm still getting up to speed with this.

My goal is to allow the iMX6 with with camera, mic and speaker to be a webrtc client

(just as a PC running Chrome or Firefox would); but without the browser.

I believe the terminology here is "native WebRTC".

Does anyone have experience with this?

I've seen some chat that the hardware assist for VP8 encode is not there yet.  Is

this in the pipeline somewhere or is there some fundamental reason why it can't be done?

Any pointers here would be appreciated!

Igor,

This appears to be all related to android.

Is there any effort to do any type of linux-based webrtc?

Actually, I'm looking to use it in a headless system, something that looks a bit more like

(but not quite) a network camera.

I've done zero android work, so am I totally off-base to think that if it runs on Android,

it would run on linux without too much effort?

Ed

PS.. if that is a really stupid question, please hold off on laughing till

I leave for the evening  :-)

Hi Ed

I am not aware of such efforts in linux, however I would

recommend also to post on meta-fsl-arm mailing list, so that

someone familiar with webrtc could try to assist you.
