Hi community,
I have a question about i.MX6 MIPI-CSI.
According to reference manual (IMX6SDLRM Rev.1) chapter 19 and chapter 41, MIPI CSI supports up to 4 virtual channel.
I want to confirm the meaning of "virtual channel".
I guess "virtual channel" means "a number of screen", so i.MX6 can capture the following data if virtual channel ID is assigned to each screen, right?
640 * 480 pixels * 30 fps * 4 screens

Virtual channel of MIPI CSI may be considered as virtual input (camera) screen.
As an example of application, using this feature, please take a look at the
following :
"4 video capture using MIPI-CSI2 port"

Hi Yuri,
Thank you for your reply.
OK, I understood i.MX6Q can capture up to 4 cameras by Re: 4 video capture using MIPI-CSI2 port .
By the way, please see Figure 19-1 in IMX6DQRM Rev.2, we can see "VC0 to VC3".
I understand VC = virtual channel, correct?
If it is correct, according to Figure 19-1 in IMX6SDLRM Rev.1, i.MX6SDL have only 2 virtual channels.
So I feel i.MX6SDL can capture up to 2 screens even though i.MX6SDL reference manual says "MIPI CSI supports up to 4 virtual channel".
Is this correct?

4 virtual channles are still available for the i.MX6 S/DL, but channel mapping
is different (regarding i.MX6DQ).
