IMX8QuadMax MEK: LVDS to HDMI adaptor card (IMX-LVDS-HDMI) usage?

Hi, I am using L4.19.35 official image.
But does it really support the LVDS to HDMI adapter card?
I attached the adapter card on port J7.
After boot, that card's red and yellow LED light, but there is no display on my HDMI screen. I use the fdt_file=fsl-imx8qm-mek.dtb.

On the other hand, native HDMI TX port (J6) using fsl-imx8qm-mek-hdmi.dtb is fine.

So is that card supported by default? How to use it?

Any help would be appreciated.

Here is the boot log:

Hi, @mop

I have tested your case on my site, use i.MX8QM mek board, withe BSP version is LF_v6.1.22-2.0.0, dtb file is imx8qm-mek.dtb. And there is no problem on LVDS-HDMI. Please use the same with me and check if is your HW connection error.

Hi @pengyong_zhang,

One more question is, is there a schematic for MCIMX8QM-CPU REV B  black board?

I had only found REV C.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, @mop

What your result if you use the latest BSP ?

Hi @pengyong_zhang,

It is the same. After those version testings, I have suspected the hardware failures. I have checked the shorts and the 1.8/3.3 VDD seems fine, but there is a crack on the U32 (NTS0104PW, red circle).

20362.jpg

Like this pose:
https://community.nxp.com/t5/i-MX-Processors/How-to-display-with-LVDS-to-HDMI-adapter-card-on-MCIMX8...

I have no white smoke, but this kit is given by others, I am not sure about their operations.

I have ordered this voltage converter chip, but why is this chip so easy to damage? Do I wonder if this chip is reliable?

Any reply will be appreciated.

Hi @pengyong_zhang

Yes, IMX-LVDS-HDMI (700-29680 REV C1,) absolutely the same.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi @pengyong_zhang

Yes, I have seen that post but it has not helped.
I have used the Linux 4.19.35_1.1.0 release and fdt_file=fsl-imx8qm-mek.dtb described in the documents.
It seems all correct but has not displayed anything, and 3 monitors detected no signals.

Any help would be much appreciated.
