Dear All,

I haven't received a clear response by Freescale's Service Request unpon how should the whole display be rotated on a iMX28 running Linux 2.6.35... As far as I'm concerned the PXP module can handle this work but it's not clear whether it's supported on 2.6.35 and how it should be done... Does anyone have any expecience with this?

Regards,

ivan

In reply to your Service Request SR 1-809058821:

I have done a research and I have found that

The framebuffer driver doesn’t provide support for rotating the framebuffer.   It is recommend either using the IPU lib to provide rotation, or to use the GPU for rotation.   Neither solution is fully automatic nor are they provided in the Freescale BSP.  Personally, if it is not heavily loaded, my recommendation would be to use the GPU for rotation.  The customer would need to render into an offscreen framebuffer and then use C2D to rotate the framebuffer to the destination rotated framebuffer which could be read by the IPU and sent to the display.

Thank you for your interest in Freescale Semiconductor products and for the opportunity to serve you.
