Dear all,
We have decided to use i.MX25 to the next product.
It is the request from our end user.
And they request more that 2GB(16Gb) NAND-Flash is used.
I chose Micron's NAND-Flash (MT29F16G08ADBCAH4-IT).
The page size is 4320 bytes (4096 + 224 bytes) and it is not officially supported by i.MX25.
But, it is that use is possiblehere.
After all, can i.MX25 be booted from Code in MT29F16G08ADBCAH4-IT?
(by spare size to 218 and a few repeating reset)
Best Regards,
Fukutomi

Dear George,
Your understanding is correct, the Linux kernel it is able to handle the 4K page of NAND flash, But the Boot Rom Code only supports 2K.
Have a great day,
Jaime

Dear jamesbone,
Thank you for the response.
a) Depending on the case, NAND-Flash which has 4K page can be used by linux-kernel.
b) But, It cannot boot from NAND Flash which has 4K page.
Is my understanding correct?

George

Hi jamesbone,
Sorry, but I don't understand your answer. If you can't boot i.MX25 from a 4K page NAND, why can you select 4K page in the boot options (BT_PAGE_SIZE[1:0])? I have a similar post here and I was told that I shouldn't have problem.
Best regards,
Fernando.
