I am designing a custom wireless charging receiver module for up to 15W application. I am using MWPR1516 IC for this purpose.
1: Is it compatible for 15W application?
2: Is it works with Qi protocol?
3:Do I need to program it or not ? if yes how can i do it e.g software,IDE etc.
4: I am open to other suggestions regarding ICs.
5: I need a IC having Qi capability and 15W wireless charging and do not need to program separately.
Hello,
I hope all is great with you. Thank you for using the NXP communities.
Please review the information below:
1: Is it compatible for 15W application?
The WPR1516 wireless charging receiver IC family and reference designs extend NXP´s wireless charging portfolio to support up to 15W charging power.
2: Is it works with Qi protocol?
It supports 5V/3A output following the WPC “Qi” specification.
3:Do I need to program it or not ? if yes how can i do it e.g software,IDE etc.
The device does not come programed out of the box.
In this case, I do recommend to download the IAR Embedded Workbench for Arm and export the examples.
Note that the WPR1516 device supports debugging using the IAR and FreeMASTER tools.
4: I am open to other suggestions regarding ICs.
An easier way to evaluate the device is using the RDWPR1500-LDO board. Have you considered it?
You may find further information about the programming process at the document below:
WPR1500-LDO MP Receiver Reference Design User’s Guide
5: I need a IC having Qi capability and 15W wireless charging and do not need to program separately.
The WPR1516 wireless charging receiver is a great option for your design. Unfortunately you would need to program it.
You may review the wireless power web page for further information.
I hope this information helps.
