Not long ago, with the release of QN9090, QN9080 became legacy.
Our product is using QN9080.
The QN9090 is more current consuming than the QN9080 and is therefore reluctant to use it.
Is QN9080 discontinued?
Which part of the QN9080 has been improved and that's why the current consumption has increased? Can you tell me what the improvement is?
Hi,
Hope you are doing well. The QN9080 is part of the Product Longevity program, rated for a 15 year since launch longevity. What this means is that the Product Longevity program ensures a stable supply of products for your embedded designs, and are supported by standard end-of-life notification policies.
This product's launch date was July 2017, and it will be covered by the NXP Longevity Program for 15 years from this date.
QN9080 is still supported and available, but the QN9090/30 is preferred for any new Bluetooth LE design. (QN9090 is in the Longevity Program too, and has a 15 years longevity from the Launch Date: January 2020).
Best Regards,
Ricardo
