TPM with 868MHz radio?

I am aware of the FXTH870xD Tire Pressure Monitor Sensor which have a 433MHz radio.

My customer likes the product, but requires an 868MHz radio. Do you know if Freescale have such a part, or maybe working on a part with 868MHz radio?

Thanks

Hello Erich,

Freescale's TPM systems are working on 315/433 MHz ISM bands, there are no embedded TPM sensors with radio running at 868 MHz (at least I don't know any).

But we do have a very attractive MCU + radio SiP, called KW0x |Kinetis KW0x Sub-1 GHz Radio MCUs|Freescale

The core is a 32-bit ARM Cortex M0+ processor running up to 48 MHz, the system has 128KB of Flash memory and 16KB of RAM. The radio features set is also quite impressive. Please take a look and if your customer agrees a 2 chips design (TPM sensor + KW0x) then this might be a good option for you.

Kind Regards,

Mihai

Thanks Mihai,

Unfortunately my customer wants a complete single chip solution....thanks anyway,

Erich

There are no embedded TPMS sensors with radio running at 868 MHz currently.

I am interested to know why your customer needs 868MHz instead of 315/434MHz.
We have FXTH87xx + KW01 demo code availabe  running 315/434MHz at
FXTH87|Tire Pressure Monitor Sensor|Freescale

Good day,

Reason is that they already run an 868MHz radio in their current system, so would want to integrate the TPM into their existing network.

I have discussed option of doing a 433 to 868 bridge, but they not keen to do this.

They do currently use a TPM with 868Mhz radio, so I was hoping to replace it with a Freescale solution.

Thanks
