I am currently working with an 88W8997 chipset, and here are the details of my DUT setup:
 
Wi-Fi Driver: SD-WLAN-SD-BT-8997-U16-MMC-W16.68.118.p1-16.26.118.p1-C4X16693_V4-MGPL
Processor: BG5CT
OS: Android 12
Linux version: 4.9.178
 
Goal:
Check the volume of the BT speaker after reconnection to DUT.
 
Different scenarios to check the volume stability of BT speaker:
    I. BT adapter off/on 
       Use the command: svc bluetooth disable and
                                        svc bluetooth enable
 
    II. BT speaker/headset power off/on
              Manual power off
              Manual power on
 
test steps:
1. Connect the BT speaker with the DUT.
2. play YouTube video.
3. Disconnect the BT speaker by turning OFF the BT adapter or BT speaker.
4. Reconnect the BT speaker to DUT by turning ON the BT adapter or BT speaker.
5. repeat the test steps 50 times and more.
 
observation: Sometimes we observed a change in volume after reconnection of the BT speaker to DUT.

Hi, @virti_choksi 

What is the issue frequency?

Can you please help to provide logcat logs, BT snoop logs and OTA sniffer logs(if possible)? 

I think it is better to check logs and reproduce this issue might be difficult on my side because you are using old Linux kernel version with Android 12.

What is the issue frequency?

>> I performed the test for 50 iterations with some delay, and the issue frequency is 70 to 80 percent.

I have attached the requested logs below.

NOTE: This log file only contains one iteration when the volume suddenly increased, not 50 iterations.

Hi @virti_choksi 

Thanks for providing me logs.

From the given logs, I saw the AVRCP volume changed command is sent from Android host side.

Our BT chip is only just follow this command and sent it to remote BT side.

So please help to check on your host side.

I suggest you to compare the failed logs and success logs to find why host send this command.

I doubt it might be related to Absolute Volume feature.

Hi, @virti_choksi 

Can you please help to try after disabled the Absolute Volume on your host Android platform?

Usually, it is in Settings->Developer Options->Disable absolute volume.

Hello @Christine_Li,

I've checked the Settings on our Android device but couldn't locate the option to disable Absolute Volume in the Developer Options section. It seems that this setting might not be available on our device or under a different menu.

Could you please confirm if there's an alternative method to disable Absolute Volume, or if there are any specific instructions we should follow?

Hi, @virti_choksi 

Can you see "Developer Options" in Settings?

If you can not see "Developer Options"  in settings, you need to click "About phone" Or "About Tablet" or something like this. Then click 7 times on the Build Number menu, it will show a toast to remind you that you are now a developer.

Then go back to Settings ->System-> you can see Develop options.

Then you can directly search "Absolute" word to see where is "Absolute volume" option located.

Can you see "Developer Options" in Settings?
>> Yes, the Developer option is enabled.

However, I still could not find the absolute volume disable option.

Sorry, I am not familiar with your host platform, I don't whether have other alternatives to disable absolute volumes.

And also please see my previous analysis, it should be host side issue. Our BT controller receive this volume change command from host, then send it to remote side. So the root cause is from host side, not our controller side.
