I was looking into the datasheet of MPXV7007 series (-7kpa to +7kpa) of piezoresistive pressure sensors.
I am a bit confused between the terms sensor response time and warm-up time.
Response time (tr) is given as 1ms.
Response time is defined as the time for the incremental change in output to go from 10% to 90% of its final value when subjected to a specified step change in pressure
In the datasheet warm-up time is given a value of 20ms and the datasheet defines it as
Warm-up time is defined as the time required for the product to meet the specified voltage after the Pressure has been stabilized.
The sensor has an output range of 0.5 to 4.5V.
Now suppose the sensor is at 0 kPa and I give a step change of 7kPa. now as per the definition of response time the sensor will reach 90% of 4.5V in 1ms (response time) that is 4.05V.
The it will take additional 20ms for the output to go from 90% to 100% that is from 4.05 to 4.5V. (warm-up time)
Is this the correct deduction?
Hello,
The definition of the warm-up time in the data sheet is a bit misleading. The warm-up time is applicable at power up only. The response of the part, once powered, is 1ms.
