Hi,
i have 2 modules - MMA8652FC and MMA8653FC (and MMA865X)
WHO_AM_I register on both modules = 0x5A but as described in datasheet must bs 0x4A and 0x5A.
Also SensorToolbox display MMA8653FC on both modules.
Thanks
Mitek
Hello Mitek,
I have just tested both the MMA8652FC and MMA8653FC accelerometers using the Sensor Toolbox GUI and as you can see in the attached file both have the correct ID (0x4A for the MMA8652FC and 0x5A for the MMA8653FC).
Could you please post here your print screens of the Sensor Toolbox GUI similar to mine?
Regards,
Tomas
Hello Tomas,
Thanks for your replay.
First module MMA8652FC
SN:00847 700-76802_A SCH-76802_A OF:626548
Second module MMA8653FC
700-76803_A SCH-76803_A SN:00453 OF:626549
Also I make simple I2C program on external processor and read 5A from 0D register on both modules.
Best regards
Mitek
P.S. Also you can see bug on this screen in bottom panel - display 3A as data and in bits state
Mitek,
Thanks for the screen shots.
Please look at the top side of both devices through the magnifier and let me know what you are seeing. Is there 652 (denotes the MMA8652FC), 653 (MMA8653FC) or anything else as the first number?
Regards,
Tomas
Mitek,
I am still investigating it, actually my MA8652FC accelerometer is marked as E13 (your is E10) and its ID is correct (0x4A). I will get back to you as soon as I know more.
Regards,
Tomas
Mitek,
Both MMA8652FC accelerometers we have been working with (E10 – yours, E13 - mine) seem to be engineering samples.
I would recommend ordering free samples of the MMA8652FC by clicking on the “Sample” button on this website and replace the original engineering sample using this new part.
If you want to return the complete LFSTBEB865x kit, please follow the standart warranty policy.
Sorry for any inconvenience it may cause.
Regards,
Tomas
Glad to hear it has been solved by replacing the part.
Have a nice weekend and thanks for using our community.

Tomas
