Hello NXP,

In SM_140, there's one recommendation below this assumption as follow:

Recommendation: Configure the microcontroller to trigger an exception in case of any
access to a peripheral slot not used on the device.

Could you please explain why this recommendation is safety relevant and what is the recommended configuration ways to implement it?

Thanks

Hi

This is to prevent an unintended activation of a disabled peripheral that can cause failure of safety relevant function.

Hi aarul,

Thanks for your reply, as the safety manual says the prevent mechanism is implemented by configuration of MCU to trigger an exception, could you please give me more information on how to implement this configuration?

Hi

I suggest to look into Chapter 12: Peripheral Bridge (AIPS-Lite) in S32K1xx_RM_Rev12 for guidance on what registers to configure to protect peripherals.
