Hi,

I have a question about the FCCU,

I know the recommend SBC for S32K3XX is FS26, but if I use FS45 as the PMIC to S32K, does their FCCU function are compatible?

Regards,

Snaku

Hi Snaku,

The FCCU monitoring feature on FS26xyD devices is more complex.

For instance, it supports 8 different error protocols:

  • No monitoring
  • FCCU1 AND FCCU2 inputs monitoring activated by pair (Bi-stable protocol)
  • FCCU1 or FCCU2 single input level monitoring activated
  • FCCU1 input level monitoring only. FCCU2 input not used
  • FCCU2 input level monitoring only. FCCU1 input not used
  • FCCU1 or FCCU2 single input PWM monitoring activated
  • FCCU1 input PWM monitoring only, FCCU1 input level monitoring
  • FCCU2 input PWM monitoring only, FCCU2 input level monitoring

Also various settings such as filtering time, error impact on Reset and Safety output is configurable by SPI.

For a detailed description, please take a closer look at chapter FCCU monitoring in the FS26 datasheet.

Please note that the FS26 is not a replacement of FS45/65, both devices are being sold and supported in parallel. They have different market targets and product position.

Hi Tomas,

I am using S32k311 and S32DS 3.5, can you tell me, if I want to use FCCU, which MCAL driver should I use?

Hi Tomas,

If our ECU safety requirement is ASIL-B, is there any concern for S32K324 + FS4500 ?

Hi Snaku,

The FCCU function is not a must for ASIL B system. So the FS45 ASIL B version does not support FCCU monitoring, ASIL D version of course yes. It can work together with the S32K324 MCU.

Best regards,

Tomas
