Hi Team,

Test Boards: RDB3, Custom board.

Software BSP: BSP34

BSP34 Linux BSP user manual was missing from NXP portal. Could you please share the same, as we are the reference command from BSP33.

One BSP33, PFE0 is configured to SGMII and we are able to ping the device.

The same SERDES1 configuration when tried with BSP34, at uboot the configuration is not taken and in Linux ping is not working.

Below are the command tried on BSP34 from u-boot.

command :

hwconfig=pcie0:mode=rc,clock=ext;pcie1:mode=sgmii,clock=ext,fmhz=125,xpcs_mode=2G5

In uboot it didnt showed the SERDES1 configuration and ping didnt worked on pfe0, even there is no error from pfe driver log.

Hello, @yellapu_anishkh

chenyin_h_0-1704790588661.png

I was using the settings above for the test.

EMAC0 connected to Serdes1-lane0(could be used with P2, P4 by default mapping), EMAC1 connected to Serdes1-lane1(used with P5 by default)

When I tested for PFE0 in kernel/uboot, I used the P2 and P4, in total 3 ports involved, P5 is not related with PFE0, but PFE1.

Hello, @yellapu_anishkh

It is my pleasure to support

As is shown in my previous post, I tested PFE_EMAC0 with both port2 and port4.

Port4 is with a 100Base-Tx PHY and is connected to the SJA1110 network switch, while port5 is with a AQR113C PHY and is directly connected to the Serdes-1, the connection and PHY used are different for the two ports.

Hi chenyin_h,
We are inline with the above understanding. But our focus is as per your log.
In the log you have shared you tested PFE_MAC0 with SGMII. port5 is with SGMII for PFE_MAC0 on SERDES Lane 1.
But the SERDES config used by you is for Lane 0 as below.
hwconfig=pcie0:mode=rc,clock=ext;pcie1:mode=sgmii,clock=ext,fmhz=125,xpcs_mode=2G5

How this configuration is working for you.

Hello, @yellapu_anishkh

chenyin_h_0-1704780563259.png

From the BSP user manual, by default, the network ports mapping are shown above, PFE_EMAC1 mapped to the P5 port, not PFE_EMAC0, while the PFE_EMAC0 routed to the SJAxxx and could be used via P2 and P4.

I was using DIP Switches that default to the QSPI boot.

Hi @chenyin_h,

Thank you for the response. For your testing of PFE_MAC0, which port is used. port 4 ?
reason is if SGMII is used port 4 (for 2.5G) should be bigger similar to port 5.

Hello, @yellapu_anishkh

Good day!

The test we have done are:

  1. PFE0, tested with P2A, P2B, P4 ports, which are all working correct(tested in both uboot and kernel).
  2. PFE1, tested with P5 port, the port pointed out from your attached picture, is working correct also.(Tested in the kernel)
  3. PFE2, tested with P3B port, is working correct.(Tested in the kernel)

Hello chenyin_h,

Good Day,

Thank you the response.

We are looking for the same scenario as per your log. PFE0 SGMII, as per the table attached in image "2.png" there is no SGMII on P2A, P2B, P4 ports. Could you please confirm the port used for testing PFE0 SGMII.

Thank You,

Hello, @yellapu_anishkh

I feel sorry for your inconvenience, the BSP list is shown correctly from my side following the method provided in the last post, which also include the BSP34.0 images and corresponding documents. Would you please log out, clear the browser cache and then relog in the NXP.com, to further check if it is correct?

we are sorry that due to our service policy, we cannot share the document via this public community, In common, you should see all the available BSP versions for your account. If you don't see the specific version you are looking for, help us contacting your local NXP FAE/representative, for them to start the required process to provide the access.

My testing log is attached for your reference, hope that it could be useful for addressing the issue.

Thank you for the log. How is the test performed, have you connected to port 5 or any other port.

Our current testing is with port 5 as shown in attachment.

Hello, @yellapu_anishkh

Thank you for the question.

For the user manuals of BSP34.0, you may reference the following method:

- Sign in to your NXP account (link to NXP site: Automotive, IoT & Industrial Solutions | NXP Semiconductors)
- Click on "My NXP Account" (top-right) and click on "Software Licensing and Support" under the "Licensing" section within the window it opens.
- This will redirect you to another page. In this new page, select the option "View Accounts" under the "Software accounts" section.
- This will again redirect you to another page. On this page, you should see an "Automotive SW - S32G - Linux BSP (Cortex-A53)" option, click on it.

In there, you should see all the available BSP versions for your account. If you don't see the specific version you are looking for, help us contacting your local NXP FAE/representative, for them to start the required process to provide the access.

I’ve tested PFE0 port on a local RDB3 with BSP34 images, (with hwconfig=pcie0:mode=rc,clock=ext;pcie1:mode=sgmii,clock=ext,fmhz=125,xpcs_mode=2G5) on which no PFE issues found in both u-boot and kernel, would you please reference the commands and settings according the formal BSP34.0 manuals for additional trial?

Feel free to provide any request if still issues found.

Hi,

Thank you for the prompt response. Unfortunately the BSP34 document is missing in NXP website.

only available for BSP33 and BSP35.

Could you please share user manual  and log.
