Hi all,
I bought a USB P&E multilink and I'm using codewarrior for HCS12 ver. 4,7.
The Multilink seems to be installed properly in windows, where I see, under jungo category, a voce "Multilink 2.0"
I tried to start a simple project with my CPU HCS12A256. I compile it and all is ok but when HiWave is launched it doesn't works. The application doesn't response to the OS and I have to terminate hiwave to wake my PC.
The blu and yellow leds are on on the multilink.
Another information is that I always use my hardware with Metrowerks CodeWarrior 2.0 with a classic multilink with parallel interface.
Someone has an answer for me???
A little news. If I try to leave the HiWave blocked, after 5 minutes it show me an error "unable to find communication speed". I calculate the value of IO_DELAY_CNT properly with mi Fbus of 8MHz. I set it to 14 and then the communication starts and the unsecure procedure starts, but it doesn't success.
What can I do????
Hiwave unsecure.cmd isn't always working with all MCUs. Maybe try downloading Unsecure12 utility from www.pemicro.com. It should work, unless something is wrong with hardware.
Yes, I downloaded it but it showm me that is unable to find the correct speed. The hardware works well beacause is a device of 5 years ago. I used metrowerk 2.0 and parallel multilink since 1994 until today when I started trying working with Freescale codewarrior 4.7 and an USB multilink.
With Unsecure12 I set the clock frequency of 8mHZ that is the value of my cristal.
What's wrong?
Unsecure12 never failed for me, various PCs with WinXP SP2 and SP3. No ideas, sorry.
Another strange thing is that the behaviour doesn't change with my device on or off.
In other words if the yellow led of USB Multilink is ON or OFF the behaviour of HiWave and of Unsecure12 is the same.
Could be the USB multilink broken?
Hi LPs1978,
One way to check if the USB multilink is broken:
Download the USB-ML-12 tech summary:
http://www.pemicro.com/downloads/download_file.cfm?download_id=208
Look at the startup sequence described in chapter 8. Make sure BKGD and RESET are able to toggle properly (ie. they should not be stuck at VDD or GND.
Best regards,
Edison
A little news: I used a DEMOQE board to try to connect to my board and all is ok.
Is this the real evidence that my USB BDM is broken? What do you think?
